Challenge
A hotel laundry washes towels, bed sheets and uniforms, and each needs a different wash. The machines needed flexible programs that staff could change easily, with consistent results and less manual work.
Solution
Laundry staff now build wash programs of up to 15 steps on the HMI, such as prewash, wash, rinse, drain and extract. Each step has its own time, water level, hot or cold water, temperature and selection of five chemical inputs. The system runs on a Wecon PLC with a Wecon HMI.
The main screen shows drum direction, door lock, water level, steam, drain and chemical status, with step and program timers.
Scope of work
- Wecon PLC programming
- Wecon HMI design
- 15-step wash program editor
- Water level, temperature and water-source control
- Five chemical dosing inputs
- Drum direction and door-lock status
- Step and program timers
Result
Laundry staff build and change wash programs on the HMI themselves, up to 15 steps per program, and each type of linen is washed with its own program every time.
